the 2011 Magique Chocolate Factory was such a success we are doing it again! With a full, 3 level boat cruising the harbour, everyone in costume and some of our strongest Magicians, Burlesque artists and performers headlining the event – its was very memorable night.

Magique Chocolate Factory is held on the Eve of the Easter Long weekend, this year: Thursday 5 April 2012 running from 9pm which a second 10pm pick up till 1am. With Sydney Harbour as the back drop, it is of course a Compulsory Fancy Dress event. You can be as creative as you like as far as costume is concerned,, and in fact – we encourage you to do so.

With a diverse crowd, all in costume and Magiques Magicians, Burlesque performers and pole dancers it was sure to be a hit. 3 levels with Rnb, House- Electro and Harstyle – Hard trace keeping all areas pumping. In 2011 Krispy Kreme, Max Brenner and Cupcakes on Pitt all jumped on board to support the Magique event.

This Year again Krispy Kreme is jumping on board to provide tantalising treats for all guests free of charge, and we excitingly have a few new supporters to be announced within the next few weeks.

Danica Lee,Danica Lee recently took the title of ‘Entertainer of the Year’ at the Miss Burlesque AustraliaGrand Final (2011), Miss Classic (2011,2010) and Miss Burlesque Sydney (2010). For the past 5 years Danica has delighted audiences with her take on classic burlesque striptease with a repertoire that spans from lighthearted and charming to dark and seductive.
Gracing stages across the country and in foreign lands, Tasia has emerged as one of Australias Leading Burlesque Artists. Whether it’s traditional Burlesque shimmy, a character based striptease or a tongue in cheek parody of a modern day rock anthem, Tasias unique individual style and versatility brings something unique to every occasion.
Briana Has been working with Magique throughout 2011 and is definitely a favourite. Recently Crowned Miss Burlesque Australia First Runner Up (2010), Briana Bluebell is all about vintage style and femininity with a cheeky twist. She has headlined stages across the globe from Australia to the US and throughout Europe. It is, however, Lola’s feminist ideals and commitment to empowering other women through burlesque that have helped her gain her true international support.
Your probably wondering now who won the Best Dressed for our annual Halloween Event – Magique Halloween Circus… And More importantly, what did they win? With over 2000 people and a Huge amount of effort put in by all it has been hard to decide. We didnt want to do the “get your friends to like or vote” mentality as this is not a popularity contest but rather a genuine effort & innovation contest.
Many People who attend Magique events in the past have set the bar rather high, and that is awesome.. because a Fancy Dress Party with no creativity really is just a waste a time, dont you think? We also find that the type of people who put that effort in are the nice fun and friendly crowd we love ! just out to have a good time.
Ok ok ! so who won already? … well we can’t deny how awesome he was. No one Died thankfully but even his gun moved and has a laser on it. His head mask and being in character most of the night was Great – It gets hellish hot in these suits you know.
THE PREDATOR has taken the crown, not just cause he threatened to slice us up! though that definitely made us consider him. Your now probably thinking… what can i do next year that is better than last year? dont worry – We are thinking the Exact same thing!
Magique Halloween Circus 2012 is already getting storyboarded, designed and if you loved Magiques 2011 instalment we want you to remember one thing. This is Just the Beginning !
What a Night !! with well over 2000 Fancy Dressed people spread across the Big Top inside Luna Park we where already ahead in creating an electric and energetic vibe. The set up and big day was massive for our team and the stage, layout and production came together amazingly.
Silent Disco on the front room with Hardstyle Djs Kax Deejay & Arbee kept people jumping for hours, kitted out like a ‘hospital of horrors’ the DJ booth looks the part. In the Main Arena we had the Big Colour Dream Bear with the 2 stilt walking Bo Peeps roaming with guests and stopping for pics.
On stage we saw Dirdy Birdy, Michelle Shimmy, Matty Sheilds, Benji all perform amazing Pole Dance Routines. Aerialists Melise Avion with her team from Avion Aerial Arts School light up the roof of the arena with their aerial acrobatics. This matched with Male Aerialist ‘Defy’we had everyones heads tilted back in awe.
Dance Groups Extended Element and Creative Identitystrung together several amazing zombie-esk hip hop/break dance shows matched with gogo which kept the energy and crowd pumped well into the night. Burlesque superstar Brianna Bluebell provided a saucey routine of Burlesque and Defy introduced us to the world of Male Burlesque – Boylesque !.
Unicyclist Jamey pretty much kept us on the edge of our.. well we where sitting, so edge of our feet i guess as he manoeuvred around the stage on his 12 foot!unicycle whilst juggling knifes and glow balls. Along with the stilt walking team, the african warriors came up from melbourne and provided an incredible show of high energy acrobatics and skill,, and some cool fire tricks.
Resident MagiqueMagician Neo provided some extraordinary stage illusion with a main act, live dove routine which has still got us stumped ! and close up guys Joko Chuiman and David Dodgen roamed the smoking areas and balconies entering with close up illusion.
The main floor we had Dj Sefu and Dj R-One keeping the beats flowing with a special addition by Sax on Legs live on the saxaphone mixing it with the Music and keeping the energy high ! MC Afroman kept us in the mood and in the know of the program Magique had in store. With Several Bands upstairs and a long list of staff, and the help of Luna Park Sydney we where able to bring again our A game in creating the unique.
The unfortunate short staffed bars due to people calling in sick meant drink wait times where longer than expected and thankfully we have now resolved this issue for future Magique Events. Our and My Main interest in making the best possible parties we can, and with your feedback both good and bad we can do so.
The Biggest Highlight of the Night was YOU ! everyone dressed up, we saw approx. 5 or 6 people who didnt which is good numbers out of the thousands attending. It is not just the fact that you put on a costume, the effort was easy to see. We had No fights, NO issues and just a good fun crowd – which is what we aim, and market to attract.

The Staff at Retro have also been kind enough to offer us a shuttle bus service that will, at the end of Magique Halloween Circus (1230am) take patrons from Milsons Point over to the venue ! ~ awesome+ and easy right?

Do I need ID? Yes this is a liscensed 18 + event
Can I purchase drinks (alcohol) and food there? Yes, there are 3 bars within the big top
Do I have to Dress up ,In costume? Yes, it is compulory.
Can I buy tickets on the night of the event? If the event has not sold out, you will be able to purchase $70 tickets at the box office.
How do I get there? Luna Park Sydney is just 3-4 minutes walk from Milsons Point Station, which is a very short train ride from town hall.
When does the show start? The show/Performances runs all night, non stop from 6-1230, with 3 rooms all playing music all night. This is a standing (dancing event
I can’t go now, can i get refunded? unfortunetley tickets are not refundable.
Will the rides be open? Yes till 11pm.
Where is the Afterparty? currently set for The Retro (to be confirmed) this will be free entry buses will take us there from milsons point
